Saint Louis University – Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (ISE) Building
St. Louis, Missouri
Louer Facility Planning was selected to provide furniture for the newly constructed Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (ISE) Building at Saint Louis University—a state-of-the-art academic facility designed to support hands-on learning, research, and student engagement.
The building spans multiple floors and includes a range of specialized classroom environments, lab spaces, faculty and staff areas, student study zones, and collaborative lounges. These spaces were thoughtfully designed to support curriculum-driven, interactive learning experiences tailored to the needs of both students and educators.
Our team worked closely with the architectural team, the owner, and BSI Constructors throughout the construction and installation phases to ensure seamless coordination across all aspects of the project. Technology integration was a key component, requiring careful planning for AV systems, power access, and wire management to maintain clean, organized, and functional installations.
Furniture solutions were selected to support a variety of teaching methods, from flexible classroom environments to highly specialized lab settings. Throughout the building, abundant natural light from the atrium is complemented by a vibrant furniture palette that aligns with the interior design vision—creating a bright, engaging atmosphere for learning and collaboration.
The result is a cohesive, well-planned, and fully integrated furniture solution that supports hands-on instruction, innovation, and adaptability—designed to meet the evolving needs of the university for years to come.
