SIUe School of Business - Student Resource Center

The Cougar Business Resource Center (CBRC) was opened for business during the fall semester of 2011. This was an exciting culmination of the teamwork between the School of Business and Louer Facility Planning in the selection of furniture that would support the sophisticated technology that was the heart of the project.

The new facility boasts online learning technologies, presentation spaces, Executive-in-Residence offices, and shared office spaces for student organizations. The challenge in furniture selection was to provide furniture that was both durable and forward thinking in design; and red, the school’s official color! The Executive-in-Residence offices and working spaces were furnished as the students would expect to find in the offices where they will find employment after graduation. Integral to the conference and meeting rooms, were the conference tables. Louer worked closely with the school’s IT group to custom design tables to allow easy connection of a broad range of data input types to the wall mounted wide screen monitors.

The Dean of the School of Business, Dr. Gary Giamartino, directed the process of the development of the CBRC from its initial conception. When asked about the contribution by Louer Facility Planning to the overall success of the project, he stated “The Louer team worked closely with us from start to finish of the project. Our vision of a ‘class A’ office/study space was facilitated by Louer’s attention to our vision, their product knowledge and their experience with corporate work environments. They were instrumental in creating a facility that has been highly praised by everyone who has seen and worked in it – students, faculty, and our alumni and corporate partners. “
